Modified fiber optic sensor for highly precise identification of mercuric ion (Hg2+) concentrations in aqueous solution

A fiber optic sensor for monitoring mercuric (Hg2+) ions in the aqueous sample have been developed based on modified cladding. To fabricate a D-shaped sensing zone onto multimode optical lengthwise polishing was utilized using mechanical end and edge system. The produced region has dimensions of 10 mm × 125 μm 62 (l w h). 2 thin layer Al2O3 nanoparticles sensitized with 4-(2-pyridylazo)-resorcinol deposited element to make it sensitive selective Hg2+ ions. analytical results demonstrate that device linear response concentration over range from 4 16 ppm along limit detection an at room temperature. selectivity is examined recognition presence other cations such as zinc and/or lead up solution. main merits this fabricated are easy safe installation, rapid response, enhanced range, better towards
